Joy Kitamori

Joy is a principal of Joyous & HiLarryous Productions, a theatrical event company based in Illinois. She is also program production manager at the Edward Lowe Foundation, where she runs a CEO roundtable program, which is deployed using Zoom video conferencing. She is also national adviser for Companies to Watch, an awards program that recognizes excellence among growth businesses.

She has a background in publishing and content development, having served as a book, journal and magazine editor in academic and trade publishing. Joy's experience in content development includes online and app-based projects for non-profits and corporate software developers. She has also held positions in community relations and corporate communications for community television, and fine art and cultural museums.

Joy's theatrical background began as prop mistress for 6 Women with Brain Death in Honolulu (which she promptly claimed would be her last after uncharacteristically losing her cool at an elderly prop hand). Her role with Joyous & HiLarryous concentrates on marketing communications, script supervision and technical production, including audio editing for the Santa Says podcast.

Joy resides in Tinley Park, Illinois, with husband and business partner Larry Carpenter, moving there from Chicago, San Diego and Hawaii (in reverse order of tropical paradise).
